My Lord,

With reference to my confidential (3) 16— despatch of the 19th of August, 1930, on the

subject of the Hong Kong Trade Loan, I have the

honour to inform Your Lordship that notice has been

given to the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation

in Hong Kong of a final payment on the 31st of

December, 1930, of this Government's sterling

liability of £100,000, with a view to the closing

of the Trade Loan Overdraft Account on that date.
